Novotel Florianopolis

Amazing hotel with great amenities like free wi-fi, a fitness center, and an infinity pool. On my first visit, the staff even helped me return my forgotten hairbrush! I highly recommend asking for Carlos or Caio for assistance. I'm coming back for a business trip.

Hotel was well-appointed and well-maintained, I loved the stay.

The location was absolutely perfect for me as it was just next door to both north and south beaches, French restaurants, and different areas. The breakfast offered was perfect with cheeses and juice, for instance, couldn't have asked for more.

The bedroom was brand-new and attractive. Variety of food for breakfast, it was outstanding: D

Unfortunately, the pool was closed during our entire stay, a big disappointment as we were looking forward to relaxing by the water. The staff's communication was lacking. I found them to be a bit unhelpful when I needed assistance. The gym was also smaller than I expected, limiting my workout options.

The staff were kind and helpful, especially Carlos and Caio, who arranged a wonderful tour for me, and I loved that the hotel was just a few steps away from the Ciclovia Beira Mar Norte, perfect for morning walks by the water.

The hotel has a very good location , the ocean front rooms are very good, excelent bed and pillows. Very clean. The stuff are very kind.

The towels were very old. The breakfast could be much better for a 5 star hotel.The internet shoul be free.

Ask the staff for local dining recommendations to enjoy authentic cuisine. They provided excellent suggestions that enhanced our experience.

With the Sofitel brand you can expect a certain clean modern decor and comfort and we were not disappointed. The room was excellent. This hotel would be best for people on business, or for those that want to shop or go to the restaurants in town. The rooftop pool is quite small but great view. We were able to get food served at the pool--pizza was very good. The gym is medium in size, but was not crowded and has everything that you need for a good work out. This hotel is about a 30 min ($30) cab ride to Jurere beach and 20 min ($20) to Mole beach/lagoon which are in different directions, so some might consider this quite central if you are planning to travel to different beaches.

Although it is on the water, there are about 6 lanes of traffic separating you from the water. There is no real beach, but there is a path for walking/running on the waterfront. We ended up moving hotels (to the Il Campanario Hotel on Jurere beach, 30 min drive north) because we wanted to be on the beach. However, for the business traveler the Sofitel is probably an excellent choice.

Cleanliness was immaculate staff helpful

That if you want to go to a nice beach for the day then you have to get a taxi, we were told no buses go directly so we had to fork out for taxis everyday.

I can't believe this hotel actually thinks a tiny pool will suffice for all its guests! The mattress was so tired, I almost fell asleep standing up. A complimentary gesture would have been nice to. Almost left a good review, but I just couldn't. What a shame!

Location was great, close by to shopping centres, restaurants and bars. Attention and going the extra mile for the customer was good as well.

The value of this hotel is not so good. I'm pretty sure that other hotels can do the same for about 60% of the price, especially if you have breakfast.
